The big news out of this past weekend is the big payoff to a cryptic tweet Stone sent out a few days ago:
The Twitterverse went wild. Not Ellen DeGeneres on the Oscars wild, but still, pretty wild for beer. Guesses ranged from a super hopped up Pilsner, to a new extreme Stout, but from the ashes rises a victor; a new Saison.
Stone is not exactly a stranger to Saisons; recently releasing Matt’s Burning Rosids, which, in typical Stone fashion, is an Imperial Saison. However, there is no indication this beer will be extreme in any way.
The best details given thus far is that it is an ale brewed with spices, which I assumed they will be receiving from their very own Stone Farms.
This new Saison will be released in 12oz bottles and will come in at 5.5% ABV.
