This Saturday is Learn to Homebrew Day!

This Saturday, November 1st, is National Learn-to-Homebrew Day! Find a Learn-to-Homebrew event near you!

Established by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) in 1999 to encourage homebrewers to introduce their non-brewer friends and family to the most rewarding hobby, obsession and lifestyle since the beginning of time!

Through beer making, demonstrations, tastings and other educational efforts, LTHD events around the world are spreading the joy of homebrewing far and wide, so don’t miss out!

Our hometown of Toledo, Ohio is home to an annual Learn-to-Homebrew event. Hosted at local homebrew supply store, Titgemeier’s Feed & Garden Store, Saturday will be full of how-to classes and glasses full of excellent beer, and the best part is, it is all completely FREE!

The Glass City Mashers, a Toledo-based homebrewing club established in 2011, is hosting its annual “Learn to Homebrew Day” event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Titgemeiers Feed and Garden store on 701 Western Avenue in Toledo.

The Glass City Mashers will be hosting five free informative brewing sessions: The schedule of How-To sessions are as follows:

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All-grain 10 a.m. to noon.

Extract 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All-grain 11 a.m. to 2 p.m

Partial mash 1-3 p.m.

Extract Members of the Glass City Mashers will be on hand to explain processes and answer questions. Informational sheets on the various types of malt, hops and yeast will be handed out along with tips on the various processes.

To spice the event up, there will be free food for all and free homebrew samples for those over the age of 21.
