Synek – Updates for the Keurig of Beers

Synek – Updates for the Keurig of Beers

Over a year ago we brought you the original story of a new Kickstarter called the Synek.  Since our release of the story, their project has surpassed their project goals and has started to take the brewing world by storm.  This nifty device allows brewers to put draft beer into a new style of growler, the Synek Cartridge, and then allows consumers to put that beer on tap right on their counter top.

Recently, the guys on the Synek team have updated their system and created three big announcements.

1. New Cartridges:

These still fill the same way as the old ones, but these bad boys hold up to 50% more pressure.  Not that the old bags were flimsy, but now they will withstand even more abuse to ensure you get the beer home safely.

2. Growler Adapters:

Not all places have Synek adapters (yet), but there’s a solution to that.  Now you can fill a regular growler, which is the industry standard, and use the grolwer right in your Synek system.  This even gives allows for Nitrogen beers to be served on-tap at home, a true innovation!

3. Oxygen Reducing Sling:

sling

You might know that oxygen is the killer of good beer.  You might not know that every time a tap is pulled, beer is prone to absorbing oxygen.  They have created a simple sling that goes over the tap and cuts off the air flow reducing the risk of oxygen coming into contact with your beer before it hits the glass.  This give you the beer with all of the flavors the brewer intended, and none that they didn’t.

  • This is really cool. Pyramid Brewing next to my office is a registered fill-point, so I love the easy access. Can anyone post a review that has actually used it?

    • Thanks for liking this! We are trying to get our hands on a system to do a formal review. We are in contacts to meet up with one of the owners of Synek and have him join us for a podcast and also let us test it out. When we get it up we’ll link it for sure!
