Protein Beer: Made with Whole Grainz [Kickstarter]

Every once in a while a product fills a void better than anyone could ever imagine.  That is the case with Protein Beer.  If you are a person who loves great beer, but also likes to get your swole on, then I will bet the title of this article made you salivate.

A brand new Kickstarter project called Supplemental Brewing is creating two beers with high protein contents made to help “Your workout meet your weekend”, as their tagline states.  Founder Blake Konrardy told us that they have “developed beer fortified with protein to help people meet their fitness goals while enjoying a cold brew.”

As of today, they have two different protein-packed offerings, Brewtein and Nutribeer.

Brewtein is described as a tasty wheat beer with more protein than any other beer in existence.  It is an American Wheat ale with a light body that is best served cold.  Supplemental Brewing recommends you drink this out of the bottle, can (our choice), or to pour it into a glass with a lemon wedge.  To us, it sounds refreshing after an intense workout.

Nutribeer makes up for it’s lesser protein content by cutting down on the carbs and calories.  It is intended for the fitness minded drinker who is watching their calorie intake.  This traditional light lager has hints of citrus and is best served ice cold.

Their Kickstarter goal is $40,000 and they need your help to ensure that these protein brews can make it onto shelves near you.  The plan is for Supplemental Brewing to partner with an existing brewery to mass produce Brewtein and Nutribeer bringing health-conscious beer to the masses.  Funding their project can get you some great free swag featuring their killer logo and slogans (I personally want the dark grey tee!).  So check them out, make a donation, and hopefully you’ll be able to refuel from a future workout with a Protein Beer made with Whole Grainz!
