Budweiser Releases Annual Superbowl Craft-Beer Bash Ad

One year ago, Budweiser (Ab-InBev) released a Super Bowl commercial in which they take needless potshots at craft beer. To no one’s surprise, during Super Bowl 50, they’ve done it again.

This year’s Super Bowl sized slam piece, dubbed “#NotBackingDown” is one of Budweiser’s more insulting ads; taking shots at just about every aspect of craft beer culture from fruited beers to imported favorites. Not even the homebrewers were spared this year.

What do you think of Budweiser’s new ad? Do you find this one particularly abrasive? We have come to expect this from Ab-InBev. Budweiser commonly takes shots at craft beers and their consumers despite the fact that Ab-InBev owns many craft breweries. Budweiser knows what they are doing. Most viewers of Super Bowl 50 are infact not craft beer drinkers, but macro-lager consumers. Budweiser is catering to their clientele and doing so while performing their best Two Face impersonation.
